Right or Wrong – Who Decides?

Our society becomes more us vs. them every day it seems. Are we still part of a civil society?  Is there any hope for unity? How does a Christian testify to hope and fulfill the scriptural mandate of I Peter 3:15 “always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to make a defense for the hope that is in you” when things seem so hopeless?

If we put the charge in context we find the answer: “13 Who is there to harm you if you prove zealous for what is good? 14 But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. AND DO NOT FEAR THEIR INTIMIDATION, AND DO NOT BE TROUBLED,15 but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts…”

We know that our Redeemer lives.

Hear Christ’s words from John 18:37: “for this reason I was born, and for this I came into the world, to testify to the truth.” From John 14:6 “I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” From John 8:32 “Then you will know the truth and the truth will set you free.”

We have the same hope expressed by Martin Luther King Jr. “Free at last. Free at last. Thank God Almighty we are free at last.”

As Christians we believe God’s Word is truth.

“Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist…” Ephesians 6:14
