“LOVE” Story

A woman on a fixed income and struggling to make ends meet, sought help from Love INC and her Township Trustee. After losing her mother, she lost the motivation to cook and began overspending on meal deliveries and fast food. Her story inspired the creation of a simple recipe PDF for the Faith & Finances class.

Through the “Thrifty Living” class assignment, she discovered she was spending $90 a month on her breakfasts stops and $289 a month on a storage unit. She admitted that it had been over a year since she had last been through the storage unit. So, with encouragement from her mentor, she enlisted her nephews to help empty the unit and prepare for a garage sale—eliminating the $289 expense.

At graduation, we celebrated her progress. She shared how the class taught her to manage her finances, set priorities, and create goals. She expressed gratitude for her mentor and asked for continued prayers as she works toward her new financial goals.
